We are fortunate to have the very talented and experienced Sharon Ehrisman as our director since 2014. Sharon has an extensive background in music, beginning with her undergraduate degree in music education from West Chester University, later earning her master’s degree from Salisbury University, and spending the last 29 years working in Wicomico County Public Schools, serving first as an orchestral director, and then becoming the choral director at Mardela Middle and High School where she remains to this day.
Sharon has performed with several top choruses in international competitions, most notably performing with a quartet called the Night Magic Quartet which earned eighth place in a competition held in Nashville, Tennessee in 2003.
And Sharon is certainly no stranger to Sweet Adelines as she performed with the Ocean Bay Chorus herself for several years, then joined up with a chapter in Baltimore for some time, and later took the directorship of a chapter in Centreville before returning to her home chapter as the director.
We are so glad to have her at the helm of the Ocean Bay Chorus as she drives us to become better singers and performers without forgetting that the main goal is to have fun and enjoy what we are doing. Beyond her talent, her enthusiasm and sense of humor are infectious!
